This course is approved by the KPTA and KBLOT for 11.5 CEUs, will prepare participants to thoroughly examine and treat complex upper extremity problems, integrating a detailed interview process with the patient. The course is set up to challenge the clinicians to think through the clinical presentation of a patient and take a holistic view of the patient when examining the upper extremity. This course is designed for physical therapists and occupational therapists that treat upper extremity injuries that have complicating factors from the cervical spine and shoulder girdle. Fundamental knowledge of anatomy is a prerequisite to the course to understand the pathomechanics of these interdependent systems. This knowledge sets the stage to clinically reason through patient problems first to determine the primary cause of patient symptoms. Both cervical and shoulder examination procedures will be performed side by side with clinical reasoning. This course will be limited to 60 total participants.
